Key Panel Sessions:

ITS World Congress 2025 will be host to an expansive and groundbreaking program featuring leaders across the public, private, and academic sectors of the ITS world. Over 600 speakers will be presenting papers, projects, and ideas about cutting-edge technologies that contribute to a safer, smarter, and more connected future of transportation.

Sessions run from Sunday to Thursday, filling rooms across the Georgia World Congress Center with information exchange. The program is full of special interest sessions, international forums, and technical sessions – plan for a jam-packed schedule!

The three plenary sessions are in the mornings of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Keep reading to get to know some of the featured speakers!


Plenary 1: Creating a Safer Future with Connected and Automated Technologies

This session will explore technology usability, considering human factors, consumer education, and the importance of trust to drive acceptance and adoption. This panel will introduce use cases of connected and automated technologies delivering near-term benefits that can increase transportation system safety and demonstrate the value to the traveling public.

Plenary 2: Realizing Growth Through Secure and Interoperable ITS

This plenary session will focus on how digital infrastructure can become truly interoperable and secure at scale, unlocking economic growth for communities large and small around the globe. It will highlight the increasing use of digital networks, the cloud, edge computing, digital twins and other transformative technologies to seamlessly connect with infrastructure and all modes. Additionally, it will address the technological, regulatory, and policy challenges that must be overcome to enable such digital transformation.

Plenary 3: Building a More Resilient Transportation System with AI & Emerging Technologies

On Thursday, August 28th, the last day of the Congress, this plenary session will discuss how AI can empower nations to take proactive approaches toward building safer transportation systems and more resilient physical and digital infrastructure before problems arise. The discussion will cover how AI is currently transforming safety and recovery efforts globally, guiding future planning, and balancing innovation with the safety of this technology.

Exhibitions and Real-World Demonstrations

The exhibition floor will be full of organizations paving the way for transportation tech, showcasing innovative breakthroughs and deployments, as well as exclusive insight into the future. Attendees will be able to attend real-world demonstrations and technical tours across the city, including the Curiosity Lab at Peachtree CornersGDOT TMC/Highway Emergency Response Operators, and the Microsoft Innovation Hub. The first tech tour of WC is on Sunday morning – the iATL – Infrastructure-Automotive Technology Laboratory Tech Tour. This tour includes the indoor Lab experience as well as outdoor demonstrations of Day One Safety Applications. The Curiosity Lab is the hub for the cutting-edge tech that made Peachtree Corners one of the first smart cities in the US, making it a must-see for all visitors of the region. Plus, don’t forget to stop by the Cobb County Braves Stadium for a real-time showcase of how the county manages both vehicular and pedestrian traffic via a sophisticated on-site traffic management command center.

One of the biggest demos to look forward to is the Day One Deployment District (DODD). The DODD is a one-of-a-kind demonstration – one that does not come and go, but will stay forever in the heart of Atlanta. Leveraging the CV2X infrastructure investments of Georgia DOT, the V2X Day One Deployment District features a one-mile area showcasing “Day One” V2X applications, live on the city roads – an unbeatable experience for visitors of the region, and truly encapsulating the theme of Deploying Today, Empowering Tomorrow.

Make sure to plan ahead for which tours you want to attend, as they must be added to existing registration for an additional fee. Tour registration will be available mid-June so stay tuned.
