ITS America Statement on Reply Comments to 5GAA Petition for Waiver to the FCC
WASHINGTON – The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) today filed a reply to the comments submitted in response to the Petition for Waiver submitted by the 5G-Automobile Association (5GAA) to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Below is a statement from ITS America President & CEO Shailen Bhatt.
“ITS America has long been extolling the life-saving benefits of vehicle to everything (V2X) communications, so we are very pleased to see the substantial and ongoing public and private sector investment in developing and deploying these technologies.
The comments submitted to the FCC conclusively and definitively rebut the views of interest groups – arguing for use unrelated to transportation safety – that claim the 5.9GHz band hasn’t been used effectively. The record also shows strong agreement that the entire band must be preserved for safetycritical V2X communications and testing must be completed.”
