Moving Towards Greener Mobility: Sustainability and Transportation Series Part 2
The transportation sector today contributes 28% of greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S. The deployment of technology holds promise to reduce our carbon footprint through electric and alternative fuel vehicles, decarbonization, and congestion reduction. ITS America has organized a two-part series on Sustainability in the Transportation System to discuss the use of technology to increase sustainability in the context of passenger vehicles, freight movement, public transportation, charging infrastructure, advanced materials technologies, roadway management, and sustainable transportation research.
On February 11, ITS America will host Part 2 of the series which will include a focus on freight movement, electrification of the transportation system, and other issue areas related to the sustainability of the transportation system.
A recording of Part 1 of the series, which focused on electric passenger vehicles, public transportation, charging infrastructure, roadway management, and sustainable transportation research, is available here.
