Complete Streets prioritize the safety and accessibility of all users, including pedestrians, cyclists, public transportation users, and vehicles. The vision behind Complete Streets is to create an equitable and sustainable transportation system that promotes active transportation and enhances the quality of life for all members of the community.

ITS America has released a set of recommendations to include and prioritize technology in the Complete Streets concept given the importance and applicability to road user safety. Digital infrastructure solutions that make pedestrians and bicyclists more visible to vehicles and digitally managed curb space are just two of the many tools that can be used.

Rapidly evolving transportation innovations are being developed and deployed that promise to entirely reshape the way our transportation network operates, facilitating vast improvements to transportation safety and overall mobility.
