Digital twinning represents a substantial shift in our ability to simulate the world around us, going well beyond digital modeling. It is an increasingly valuable tool across the transportation and infrastructure landscape, with applications for traffic management, bridge construction and monitoring, and autonomous vehicle testing, among others. This webinar will explore the role of digital twins in transportation, covering their applications in traffic management, bridge monitoring, and autonomous vehicle testing. Attendees will gain insights into planning, challenges, and experiences from agencies that have implemented digital twin initiatives. We will present real-world use cases from the ITS America Digital Twinning Decoded Document, showcasing how digital twins can manage traffic incidents, monitor bridge health, prioritize roadway maintenance, and remotely test the joint control of vehicles and signals.
