ITSJPO Webinar on Sources Sought Notice for Artificial Intelligence for ITS Program

The U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Joint Program Office (JPO) is pleased to announce its second webinar about the Artificial Intelligence (AI) for ITS Program. The webinar will be held on Thursday, August 12, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM (EDT).

BACKGROUND

The AI for ITS Program’s vision is to advance next-generation transportation systems and services by leveraging trustworthy and ethical AI—including machine learning—for safer, more efficient, and accessible movement of people and goods. The program aims to build and deploy cost-effective AI for ITS capabilities in real-world modal use.

WEBINAR DETAILS

This webinar aims to provide an overview of the sources sought notice (SSN) and instructions for submitting responses. The purpose of the SSN is to determine if there are any entities that have an interest in completing work in development, testing, pilot deployments, and evaluation of applications leveraging AI to address transportation needs, specifically in ITS. This includes improving the transportation system and users’ safety, mobility, accessibility, productivity, efficiency, and environmental impacts.

The webinar will cover the following topics:

  • Introduction of the AI for ITS Program (including the program vision, mission, goals, and approaches)
  • Synopsis of the questions listed in the SSN
  • Instructions for submitting the SSN responses.

This webinar is part of a series of webinars the U.S. DOT is hosting about AI for ITS. To learn more about upcoming webinars, register for future email announcements here.
