Unveiling a Roadmap for Vehicle and Infrastructure Accessibility
Many modes of transportation are inaccessible, unreliable, or ill-suited to people with disabilities and older adults, which often means fewer opportunities to access employment, housing, healthcare, and education. The Accessible Mobility Collaborative – which includes AVA, ITS America, AARP, CALSTART, Mcity at the University of Michigan, and SAE – was formed to develop a roadmap for solving vehicle and infrastructure accessibility challenges. Please join us for a panel discussion to introduce the roadmap, which includes recommendations for vehicle design language for shared automated vehicles (SAV); digital tools for trip planning; and the potential for integrating and coordinating a design language for both the vehicle and infrastructure.
This virtual panel discussion will be recorded on Thursday, December 2 at 1pm ET in conjunction with the ITS America Annual Meeting, which will take place the following week in Charlotte. It will be available to conference attendees as part of the virtual conference programming during and after the event.
