ITS America Now Accepting Submissions for the 2021 Annual Awards Program

Awards season is here! While it’s not the red-carpet television and film awards, ITS America has officially kicked off its 2021 annual awards program and is now accepting submissions. The awards will culminate at the 2021 Annual Meeting in Charlotte, December 7-10.

This year’s awards include the highly competitive “Best of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)” Award and the new “Best of Mobility on Demand (MOD)” Award.

The Best of ITS Award recognizes organizations implementing the most advanced projects in the  transportation and technology industry. This program aims to distinguish organizations whose transportation projects demonstrate specific and measurable outcomes and exemplify innovation.  This year, ITS America will award a best partnership project winner and projects should fit in with meeting theme – Reimagining Transportation.

The Best of MOD Award will recognize an outstanding Mobility on Demand public-private partnership (P3) that is making a notable impact and leveraging emerging mobility systems to improve access.

For both awards, at least one partner must be a current member in good standing of ITS America. All entrants must be public-private partnerships and projects must be implemented in North America and deployed during 2020 or 2021. Full eligibility requirements, application criteria, and submission and scoring criteria are available here

Volunteers from ITS America standing committees, MOD awards subcommittee, and staff will review entries and select the top finalists to present at the Best of ITS Awards Reception in Charlotte. Reception attendees will vote during the reception, and ITS America will announce winners that evening.

All submissions are due September 8 and finalists will be notified October 13.

The Outstanding State Chapters Awards will also be announced at the Annual Meeting; guidelines will be sent directly to state chapter representatives. For questions related to all awards, please contact Rachel Rettberg, Director, Meetings and Education: rrettberg@itsa.org. Good luck!
