ITS America Elects New Officers, Board Member

Washington – The Intelligent Transportation Society of America’s (ITS America) Board of Directors approved the election of four officers and one new member at its meeting earlier today. The ITS America Board is made up of leaders in the intelligent transportation industry, who set policy and direct strategies for the association.
The officers and board members represent a diverse group of senior-level executives from private companies and public agencies in mobility, technology, and ITS spheres.

“We are excited to welcome our new officers and board member,” said ITS America President & CEO Shailen Bhatt. “We look forward to putting 2020 in the rearview mirror. We are optimistic about the transportation landscape in 2021 and look forward to working with these talented, experienced leaders.”

Chair – Ramin Massoumi, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Iteris
Ramin has more than 20 years of leadership experience and is a key proponent of using a platform-based approach to solve mobility challenges in the ITS industry. He served as Vice Chair this year.

Vice Chair – Roger Millar, Secretary, Washington State Department of Transportation
Roger oversees an agency that is the steward of a complex, multimodal transportation system and is responsible for ensuring that people and goods move safely and efficiently.

Secretary – Desi Ujkashevic, Global Director, Automotive Safety Engineering, Ford Motor Company (re-elected)
Desi brings nearly three decades of experience at Ford Motor Company, including global leadership focusing on safety, sustainability, advanced mobility and new market development.

Treasurer – Ed Bradley, Program Manager Product Regulatory Affairs, Safety, Toyota (re-elected)
Ed brings more than 35 years of experience in the automotive industry, including 21 years with Toyota, bringing a focus developing technologies and regulations to support connected and automated vehicle systems.

Phil Silver, Transportation Leader, State and Local Government, Amazon Web Services, was elected as a new board member. Phil leads AWS’s public sector transportation vertical working closely with state and local governments across the country. Over the past 20 years, be has held sales and strategy leadership roles in global systems integration firms that specialize in payments, fare collection, traffic management, tolling, parking, and traveler information.
