In January 2024, the Intelligent Transportation Society of America released our first ever ITS Use Case Library with the goal of highlighting ITS projects that are creating tangible impacts on communities across the United States.
This June 2025, we are proud to release Volume 3 of our ITS Use Case Library. Featuring eight exciting new use cases, Volume 3 showcases a variety of technologies including connected vehicles, AI-powered traffic management, adaptive signals, smart work zones, automated vehicles (AVs), transit signal priority, rapid transit planning, smart data centralization, and much more.
ITS America created this use case library for your use in conversations with federal policymakers and regulators – as well as the general public – to tell the ITS story.
From both the public and private sector, we are honored to showcase our members’ accomplishments through this regularly updated living document. This library includes some of the best examples of utilizing technology to make transportation safer, smarter, and more connected.
