ITS America is pleased to host the second webinar in the Connecting the West program webinar series, Miles & Milestones: Phase 1 Lessons from the Connecting the West Project, on August 25, 2026 from 12:00–1:30 p.m. MST.

This free, 90-minute session will bring together project team members from the Utah and Colorado Departments of Transportation, alongside technical consulting groups. Participants can expect in-depth conversation about what Phase 1 of this multi-state V2X initiative delivered and recommendations going into the second phase.

Connecting the West is a $20 million federally funded program focused on large-scale V2X deployment and interoperability across Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming. During Phase 1, the project team designed, built, and tested connected transportation infrastructure across a 1,200-mile corridor, deploying applications such as LiDAR detection, snowplow signal preemption, and Traveler Information Messages. The August 25 webinar will offer a reflection of the challenges encountered along the way, the lessons that will shape future phases, and what this work means for V2X implementation efforts on a larger scale.
