ITS America Statement on DOT Request for Comments on V2X Communications

WASHINGTON – The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) today filed comments in response to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s request for comments on vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications.

Below is a statement from ITS America President & CEO Shailen Bhatt.

“ITS America urges the Department of Transportation (DOT) to continue working with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to preserve all seven channels in the 5.9 GHz band for lifesaving vehicle to everything (V2X) technologies and protect V2X operations from harmful interference.

We are experiencing significant growth in the V2X space. The sooner these technologies are deployed on a broad scale, the more lives we will save. To speed deployment and encourage more innovation, DOT should support policies and take action that remove uncertainty and ensure interoperability for V2X technologies.”
