“ITS America applauds the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for collecting information on automated technologies – automated driver-assist technologies that help drivers make decisions, and automated driving system technologies in vehicles that don’t require a human driver, both of which are key to improving safety for all road users.

We continue to advance the research, development, and deployment of these critical safety technologies, particularly given the record number of crashes fatalities on U.S. roads. We look forward to working with federal leaders to advance these innovations as part of a safe systems approach toward zero deaths.”
