Digital Infrastructure Webinar Series #1: Beyond the State Line: Smart Freight, Smarter Corridors
Join us for the first session in the newly released Digital Infrastructure Webinar Series sponsored by STV—a curated set of national conversations featuring real-world deployments, national policy alignment, and lessons learned from the 2024 series, while offering fresh insights into the evolving strategies driving digital infrastructure implementation.
Developed through a collaborative planning process involving STV, ITS America leadership, and federal, state, and private sector stakeholders, this series supports the next phase of U.S. infrastructure modernization by spotlighting how data-driven systems are moving from concept to corridor.
The kickoff session—“Beyond the State Line: Smart Freight, Smarter Corridors”—focuses on the multi-state deployment of Truck Parking Availability Systems (TPAS) across the I-10 freight corridor, showcasing how Arizona and Texas are collaborating to deliver real-time parking availability, improve cross-border system alignment, and create a national model for corridor-scale digital infrastructure.
What You’ll Learn:
- How TxDOT and ADOT are deploying real-time TPAS across 37 public rest areas, using radar and video-based space detection, site-specific architecture, and signage designed for driver decision points
- How each DOT is publishing real-time availability data through platforms like Streetline, AZ511, and DriveTexas.org
- How third-party platforms like Drivewyze are collaborating with states to bring public rest area data into in-cab tools, using open APIs and ELD-compatible systems
- The technical and institutional architecture that supports corridor-wide data exchange, built on MAASTO-based standards and aligned with national interoperability frameworks
- How states are enabling public-private data integration through non-proprietary APIs, clear data governance, and ongoing stakeholder engagement—without endorsing specific vendors
- How this system is laying the groundwork for future enhancements like weather alerts, corridor-wide analytics, and truck parking reservations
